Getting Started with Flash Lite 1.1

Over the past year, Macromedia Flash applications for mobile devices have grown immensely in popularity, and now is a great time to find out what this technology is all about. If you're interested in creating compelling content for mobile phones with Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004, you're in luck. View the Flash Lite 1.1 presentation to find out more about Flash Lite and learn how easy it is to get started.

In this presentation I discuss the mobile developer program, show some new Flash Lite examples, and demonstrate how to create several types of content using Flash MX Professional 2004. I start off with a simple application. Then I show you how to export a QuickTime movie as a .3gp file, copy it to your handset, and then create a Flash Lite front end to open and play the video file.

After watching the presentation, be sure to visit the Mobile and Devices Developer Center as well as the Flash Lite forum for more information and developer support.

This is the first of several monthly presentations made in Macromedia Breeze that we'll be posting on the Mobile and Devices Developer Center. If you find these types of presentations informative or helpful, please let us know which subjects you'd like us to cover in the future.
