In Part 1 of this series, I discussed Flash Lite as it currently exists on Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition devices (specifically those shipping with the Flash Lite 1.1 player pre-installed). There I explained some of the device capabilities, inherent limitations, as well as design and development considerations you should make when creating Flash Lite wallpaper, screen savers, and sub-LCD content for devices within this platform.
Part 2 covered the process needed to construct Flash Lite wallpapers. In that article, the sample animation created was targeted for the Nokia 6125 handset. This is one of many Series 40 3rd Edition devices that currently supports wallpaper, screen saver, and sub-LCD content types (in addition to the typical Standalone and Browser types).
Now in Part 3, I'll show you how to create a Flash Lite screen saver, from its initial design and development to its testing and deployment phases. When all is said and done, you'll have gone through the steps necessary to create a Flash Lite screen saver that can be used with little modification across Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition devices that support this content type.
To follow this article you will need the following devices and software:
Previous Flash Lite 1.1 experience (or equivalent programming knowledge)
Note: If you have not already read Parts 1 or 2 of this series, I recommend that you do so. This is not a specific requirement, however, as long as you have at least some experience or familiarity with Flash Lite 1.1 on Nokia handsets (such as Symbian Series 60 devices).
