Building a website with Web Premium CS4 – Part 7: Finalizing and reviewing the home page

Welcome to Part 7 of the Building a website with Web Premium CS4 tutorial series. This part of the tutorial shows you how to finalize the home page of the AdventureTours site by completing the following tasks:

  • Create a Photoshop Smart Object to facilitate editing the banner graphic of the home page.
  • Add placeholder links to the top and bottom navigation text.
  • Use the Adobe BrowserLab service to check how different browsers render the page on the Mac OS X and Windows XP platform.

You'll begin where you left off in Part 6. If you've just arrived at this section, you may want to go to Part 1 and start following along from the beginning. Or, if you prefer, you can download the sample files provided below and start following the instructions that are outlined here.

Note: The steps in this tutorial assume that you've installed the web server and application server as described in Part 2, and defined a Dreamweaver site pointing to the directory on your hard disk where the local site files will be stored. In order to use BrowserLab, you must have FTP access to upload your files to a hosted server.
