Configuring Third-Party File Compare

Windows: Configuring Dreamweaver 8 to Recognize Your Diff/Merge Utility

Configuring Dreamweaver to detect the file compare application on Windows takes a few quick steps.

  1. In Dreamweaver, Select Edit > Preferences.
  2. Select the File Compare category.

  3. Click the Browse… button and specify the path of the "diff" or merge utility. See the screen shot below for the path to the EXE file.

  4. Click OK. Dreamweaver is configured to communicate with your Diff/Merge Utility.
