In this article you will learn about setting CSS rules style existing (X)HTML elements—that is, elements that exist within your (X)HTML document such as body, h1, p, or blockqoute tags. You will learn how it is possible to style existing elements in your page without the need for additional markup at the page level.
You will then progress to learn about longhand and shorthand syntax. Shorthand syntax can provide a smaller and faster loading style sheet, thereby keeping your page weight down to an absolute minimum.
