After the site has been completed by the developer and the site has been enabled for the InContext Editing service, you will receive an e-mail, inviting you to become a designated content editor. This invitation contains several links. The first of which takes you to the InContext Editing server where you can accept the invitation and validate yourself as a user of the InContext Editing capability of your new site. The second link in the invitation enables you to access resource information about the use of InContext Editing. Figure 1 shows an example of an invitation e-mail.

Figure 1. A sample e-mail invitation inviting you to become a content editor.
Clicking the first link ("View invitation from …") opens your browser to a page similar to the one shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2. Accepting the invitation takes you to this page.
You'll find plenty of help and resources links on that location (as seen on the left side of the page). To enable your participation as a content editor you have two options. If you have Adobe ID, click the Sign In! button. You will be asked to provide your e-mail and password to validate the sign-in (see Figure 3).

Figure 3. Click the Sign In button to enter your credentials.
If you don't have an Adobe ID, click the Join Now! button and fill out the form to create a new Adobe account (see Figure 4).

Figure 4. Clicking the Join Now! button enables you to create an Adobe account.
After successful sign-in, you'll be taken to the Invitation panel, which enables you to accept the invitation to become a content editor (see Figure 5).
Note: Before arriving at the Invitation screen, customers with an existing Adobe ID account may have to sign a Terms of Use (ToU) agreement. Customers who have created an account by using the Join Now screen will be taken directly to the Invitation, because they signed the ToU on the registration screen.

Clicking Accept Invitation, takes you to the website where you can start editing. This article uses as an example the Adobe demo website, which I have mounted at http://icedemo.gws-sitetest.com. Only certain pages on your site may have been enabled for you to edit. You should have been given a list of those pages by your webmaster, and in the case of this demo site, only the NEWS page has been enabled for InContext Editing.
