Applying unobtrusive InContext Editing code

What is InContext Editing?

Adobe InContext Editing is a hosted service that provides simple content-editing capabilities within a web browser. Website owners need only apply specific mark-up to specific tags or areas of the page in order to make those tags or areas editable in a browser.

InContext Editing currently supports two types of mark-up:

  • Standard mark-up is the default mark-up generated by Adobe Dreamweaver CS4.
  • Unobtrusive mark-up, which is explained in more detail in this tutorial.

Note: Adobe InContext Editing is not a web hosting service. This means that you will need to have your website hosted on a live server, accessible on the Internet.

In the next section, you'll use Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 to apply editable regions and repeating regions to specific areas of a sample page.
