At EffectiveUI, I wanted to create a set of illustrations highlighting the stages of a development project. A core strength of our company is the development of user interfaces, so my approach was to take a symbolic representation of an interface and watch it transform through each phase of development.
My style is oftentimes more bitmap-like since I enjoy illustrating in a way that looks as if it was rendered from a 3D program; however, I also love the ease and editability of vector creation. Fireworks has always been my first tool of choice because of the effortless interaction between its vector and bitmap tools.
I created every aspect of this illustration entirely in Fireworks CS3 from scratch, using almost 100 percent vector objects. There was no need to import any photographs or bitmaps because I could leverage all the native effects and textures of Fireworks. Each illustration is on a different frame of the source file.
Note: The illustrations contained in this sample are for educational purposes only and may not be reproduced in any form. They are the exclusive property of EffectiveUI.
