Flash glossary: LZMA compression
Flash Professional CS6 includes a new SWF compression type based on LZMA (Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain Algorithm). By switching to LZMA compression the SWF file size may be reduced up to 40% depending on the amount of ActionScript and vectors in the file (see Figure 1). LZMA compression is available in Flash Player 11 or AIR 3 or higher.

To use this feature, follow these steps:
- Choose File > Publish Settings to open the Publish Settings dialog box.
- Click on the Advanced toggle if the Advanced options are not already showing.
- Check the Compress movie option and choose LZMA from the compression type drop down.
- Click Publish to publish the movie with LZMA compression.
