Flash Professional CS6 includes a new SWF compression type based on LZMA (Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain Algorithm). By switching to LZMA compression the SWF file size may be reduced up to 40% depending on the amount of ActionScript and vectors in the file (see Figure 1). LZMA compression is available in Flash Player 11 or AIR 3 or higher.

To use this feature, follow these steps:
 
  1. Choose File > Publish Settings to open the Publish Settings dialog box.
  2. Click on the Advanced toggle if the Advanced options are not already showing.
  3. Check the Compress movie option and choose LZMA from the compression type drop down.
  4. Click Publish to publish the movie with LZMA compression.
