When you select an item in the Library panel in Adobe Flash Professional, a thumbnail preview of the item appears at the top of the Library panel. If the selected item is an animation or sound file, you can click the Play button in the Library preview window to watch or listen to the item.
To use a Library item in the current document, drag the item from the Library panel onto the Stage. The item is added to the current layer.
To convert an object on the Stage to a symbol in the Library, drag the item from the Stage onto the current Library panel.
To use a Library item from the current document in another document, drag the item from the Library panel or Stage into the Library panel or Stage of the other document.
Follow these steps to copy items from a different document's Library:
Alternately, you can open both documents (the one containing the elements to be copied and the destination project). Click the tab to make the destination project active. Use the menu at the top of the Library panel to choose the other document's Library that contains the element you want to copy, and then drag it to the Stage. This operation automatically copies the item into the destination project's Library. When you are finished copying the Library items, use the menu again to choose the Library for the current project.
To learn more about storing and organizing elements in the Library, see the section titled Working with the Library in the Flash documentation.
