Important note: Effective with the release of Adobe LiveCycle ES, the Adobe Flex Data Services 2 server product has been rebranded as a Solution Component of LiveCycle ES. This article was written based on Flex Data Services but will likely work as is with LiveCycle Data Services ES. Any articles referring to or using ColdFusion and Flex Data Services are not compatible with LiveCycle Data Services ES. To learn about the new capabilities of LiveCycle Data Services ES, see the tutorials in the LiveCycle Developer Center and read about Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES.

Ajax Client for Flex Data Services 2 (ACFDS) is a JavaScript library that will enable Ajax developers to access the messaging and data management capabilities of Flex Data Services directly from JavaScript.

Using ACFDS, developers will be able to build sophisticated applications that integrate more deeply with back-end data and services. Flex Data Services 2 provides integrated publish and subscribe messaging, real-time streaming data, and a rich data management API that dramatically simplifies the development of rich Internet applications.

Demonstration of ACFDS in action

Note: The ACFDS library is not yet available for download. However, we plan to make a free version available for download later this year. To ensure that you receive news of the latest updates, subscribe to the RSS feeds for Adobe Labs.
