The PHP RIA SDK by Adobe is an open-source project designed to help PHP developers get started with building Adobe Flex applications quickly. The SDK contains popular libraries for connecting Adobe Flex with a PHP back end, including AMFPHP, Weborb for PHP, and the Adobe Flex-Ajax Bridge.

Requirements

To make the most of this article, you need to install the following software and files:

Flex Builder 2

PHP (installed on a local web server)

Sample files:

Prerequisite knowledge:

Familiarity with simple PHP development.

To view the samples on the SDK, download the ZIP file in the Requirements section and then extract it to your web server. The ZIP file will extract to a directory called php_ria_sdk_by_adobe. Once the archive is extracted, open the index.html page from the SDK in a web browser. For instance, if your server is http://localhost and you extracted it to the root of that web server, open http://localhost/php_ria_sdk_by_adobe/index.html in your web browser.

Help improve the SDK by participating in the Google Code project and joining the PHP RIA SDK mailing list.
