Adobe GoLive CS2 SDK Overview

The Adobe® GoLive® CS2 SDK gives you everything you need to extend the behavior and user interface of Adobe GoLive CS2 software. The GoLive CS2 SDK includes documentation, tools, and more than 50 samples to help you create GoLive extensions. Creating an extension is as simple as creating an HTML page.

The GoLive CS2 SDK has been updated. For a description of recent bugs fixes, please see the SDK ReadMe 8.0 file.

Note: The SDK 8.0r3 is the latest release. If you want the complete set of samples and documentation, download this SDK.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR GOLIVE 9 USERS SEEKING TO USE GOLIVE CS2 SDK

Although we have updated GoLive to version 9, we have not made any modifications to the GoLive CS2 SDK. Architectural changes in GoLive 9 may result in some incompatibilities when developing extensions for GoLive 9 with the GoLive CS2 SDK. A number of the samples included as part of the GoLive CS2 SDK will not work with GoLive 9 (see below for a complete list of incompatibilities). The GoLive CS2 SDK Programmer's Guide and Reference have also not been updated and therefore are appropriate only for developing extensions for GoLive CS2.

The following samples included with the GoLive CS2 SDK will not run appropriately using GoLive 9:

The SDK offers a large library of samples that demonstrate features and development techniques

New samples

The following samples are included in the 8.0r3 release.

• CSSDom

  Creates a palette to display, insert, delete CSS rules/styles with a markup document using the CSSStyleSheet object.

• AutoCompletion

  Simple feature example, implements word autocompletion in layout.

• QuickFind

  Simple feature example that adds an edit field to the toolbar for simple text search.

The following samples have been added to the 8.0r2 release:

• Bridge sample

  Shows how to use the messaging framework to communicate and exchange data between Adobe Bridge and GoLive.

• CrossDom

  Shows how to use the cross-DOM functions defined by all Creative Suite 2 applications to communicate with other applications.

• XMP

  Creates a palette in which the user can display and modify a file's XMP metadata using the XMP object.

Updated samples

Changes have been made to the existing samples, including:

• Custom Box

  Updated to use the new event-handling mechanism.

• Dialog Editor

  Now supports filelist control and hierarchy control.

• Menus and Dialogs

  Updated to include the new features setShortCut and helpTip.

• Website

  Updated to include new feature add a new file to site collection.

• FolderTreeObject

  Updated to use the new hierarchy control type, rather than the deprecated tree control type.
