Developer Toolbox for LiveCycle software

The Developer Toolbox is a self-contained development environment for prototyping, developing, and testing Adobe® LiveCycle® applications. It provides an easy-to-install environment which contains all of the LiveCycle applications pre-configured as a base installation.

The base installation provides an instance of JBoss Application Server and MySQL Database server already configured with the following LiveCycle server applications installed as well as the product documentation:

• LiveCycle Forms 7.1
• LiveCycle Form Manager 7.0.1
• LiveCycle Print 7.1
• LiveCycle Reader Extensions 7.0.2
• LiveCycle Security 7.1
• LiveCycle Workflow 7.0.1
• LiveCycle Workflow SDK 7.0.3

The following third-party products are embedded in the base installation and are pre-configured:

• JBoss 3.2.5
• MySQL 4.1
• James Email 2.2.0

System requirements

• Microsoft® Windows® 2000/2003/XP
• 1GB of memory (2GB highly recommended)
• The Java SDK, version 1.4.2_09 and other 1.4.2 builds except for 1.4.2_10, must be installed prior to the installation of the toolbox if you want to use the LiveCycle Reader Extensions certificate. Verion 1.5 and higher of the SDK is not supported.
• A JAVA_HOME environment must be created and set to point to the location where the j2sdk was installed.

Note: The WFUtilsUI is required to import the samples and is included in the base installation download.

Additional QPACs

Adobe partners such as Avoka Technologies provide additional Quick Process Action Components (QPACs) like:

• Folder Watch: Monitors a specific directory for new files to arrive
• SQL+ Import: Imports data from any JDBC compliant datasource
• Document Import: Imports a document to a process variable (document or blob)
• Document Export: Exports a document from a process variable (document or blob)
• Variable Logger: Logs the values of process data variables on the console and the specified log file
