Delivering Macromedia Flash Movies on Pocket PCs with FlashAssist and FlashAssist PRO

Macromedia Flash allows you to create applications for a variety of devices. You're not supposed to be limited to the desktop. However, even though the Macromedia Flash Player 5 for Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 gives Pocket PC owners the ability to view Flash 5 content in Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer (Pocket IE), out of the box Pocket IE diminishes the Macromedia Flash user experience.

In this article, I'll show you how to use FlashAssist and FlashAssist PRO from Ant Mobile Software to improve the way you view and deliver Macromedia Flash content for the Pocket PC. With FlashAssist, you'll be able to view Macromedia Flash content in full-screen mode and open movies directly from the File Explorer in Pocket PC. With FlashAssist PRO, you'll be able to create stand-alone Flash applications that store data using XML, accept handwriting recognition, and in many ways operate like standard Pocket PC applications.
