Snippets in RoboHelp 7: A new way to work smarter

This article introduces the Snippets feature, first made available in Adobe RoboHelp 7. In brief, the feature enables you to take advantage of reusable content. In a RoboHelp project, you create a snippet, then use and reuse the contents of that item within the project—as many times as you want. All instances of the item are linked copies of the original. If the content of the original item changes, all instances of the placed item update automatically.

Adobe has implemented snippets in a way that maximizes usability (for authors) and minimizes complexity. There is some HTML machinery behind snippets, but the functionality conceals complexities authors don't need to face, and at the same time gives open access to the important properties of the feature.
