RoboHelp X5 and XML – Part 2: Using Handlers to Customize RoboHelp XML Features

This article is the second of a two-part series that examines Macromedia RoboHelp support for XML. This article focuses on RoboHelp “handler” features you can use to customize XML support. Similar to the first article, RoboHelp X5 and XML – Part 1: Import and Export Features, this article discusses the features’ mechanics, their peculiarities, and some aspects of integrating them in a documentation workflow. This article doesn’t cover all the details, but it will help you evaluate whether you can use RoboHelp in an XML environment.

Handlers are like “scripts.” You can use them to export topics or projects in HTML form RoboHelp to various forms of XML. Likewise, you can also use handlers to import material in various forms of XML into RoboHelp.
