Icon or Spacer DevNet XML Feed

The Macromedia DevNet has become a valuable way for professionals to access and share information on using Macromedia products. In fact, we’re now receiving requests from developers who want to display links to the latest Macromedia news and resources on their websites.

To meet these requests, we’ve created a publicly accessible XML feed that allows anyone to provide information on their website about the latest Macromedia DevNet resources. This XML file contains headlines and links to all of the latest articles and resources found on our website, and is automatically updated whenever new online content is added.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our XML Feed Contest.

Congratulations to the talented winners of the Macromedia XML Feed Contest:

Most Creative XML Feed
Phil Chung, Philterdesign
www.philterdesign.com/dev/macromedia
Phil constructed an intuitive interface that allows users to browse all content or filter information by resource type or product. His whimsical resource icons, striking use of color for product coding, and application of animation to indicate users' selections all successfully combine into an attractive, useful page.

Best Site Integration
Shane Elliott, Timberfish
www.timberfish.com
Shane incorporates the XML feed into his homepage using an elegant grid system, effectively attracting the visitor's eye with its airy design, scroll bar, and colorful, informative product icons — while managing to avoid overpowering the page or detracting from other important items.

About the Macromedia DevNet XML feed
The Macromedia DevNet XML Feed is designed to be completely customizable. It delivers data in the form of XML that can be integrated and delivered to your website. Because the information is deployed in XML, you can easily update it to include the look and feel of your website, and deliver it using either the Macromedia Flash Player or straight HTML.

Using DevNet XML feed
For complete details on how DevNet XML Feed is structured, how to use it, and where to find the code, check out Mike Chamber’s article on the XML feed.
