The editors at The Rag, an edgy electronic publication, definitely didn't want their website to melt in with some of the other cheesy web designs out there, and with Adobe® Muse™ software, it doesn't.
Designer Krissy Marheine did an excellent job of bringing the look and feel of print to the web with paper texture backgrounds and handwritten/typewriter style fonts. While the home page design serves its purpose well in feeling rough and organic, it also takes advantage of more technical features, such as a slide show that showcases the first issue and a link to purchase. Arbitrary HTML is also used effectively to include social networking and advertising links.
