ÆS Graphic Product
Objective: This book was made for my scholarship application at Art Center. It served as my portfolio, showcasing just about all of my recent work, and gave everyone an idea of where my passion for graphic design lies. One of the most important things that I had learned in my first terms at school was about the history of graphic design, more specifically Swiss Modernism and International Style. This was one of my major intentions while being a student: to understand what happened in the past, in order to understand how and why things are the way they are today. What has come out of this knowledge is a direction, a reductivist method of design that is clear, information-based, and constructed through various systems. This is what I wanted to communicate with my book. By formatting my pages to a strict grid, and making use of the three column multilingual system (English, German, French), I wanted to reference the period I have come to love and embrace.
Tools used: All images were prepared in Adobe® Photoshop® and Adobe Illustrator®. The entire book was laid out in Adobe InDesign®.
