Dream Line
Objective: Welcome aboard! This is a “Dream-Line.” We are never late, we never mis-announce the destination, we never lock you guys in the train for one hour due to a problem because the whole systems are made by the latest technology that you can find on the planet, it never breaks. And, of course, we don’t allow anyone who smells bad, is drunk, or looks suspicious, so your satisfaction is totally guaranteed! Since I use the subway more than two hours everyday, this is my dream train. I changed the color dramatically not to make it look too real but super real, and I’ve stuck with the clean vector illustration style for the same reason. I hope this train would become real and I’m sure people would love riding it!
Tools used: This piece was created 99% using Adobe® Illustrator® and a little help from Adobe Photoshop®. After having taken photographs of trains and platforms, I used Photoshop to modify the composition and the color of the images which then were imported into Illustrator. The great capabilities of the Pen tool and the smart guide function gave me a way to create “CAD-like” accuracy of lines that I wanted to draw. For the window reflection, I mainly used the Blend tool which gives me great control in making gradations, and by setting these objects’ opacity and layer mode, I was able to create natural reflection off of the window.
