Ryan Corey
California Institute of the Arts

Ratcatcher Film Titles

Biography: Ryan spent the formative years of his life in the Rocky Mountains learning such skills as wood chopping and the construction of dry stone walls and houses. Living off the land proved to be exciting and fulfilling, but Ryan felt that he needed to branch out and learn the ways of man. He chose the California Institute of the Arts to fulfill this need. Barely tolerated by his classmates and instructors, he continues to study graphic design and is currently the captain of the swimming team.

Objective: My objective was to create film titles for an existing film, communicating the complex issues and ideas conveyed in the film. Hand-drawn imagery was combined with photographic and animated images to create distinct physical spaces for the type to exist within.

Tools used: Adobe® Photoshop® and Adobe Illustrator® were used to create and prepare files, which then were brought into Adobe After Effects® for animation.
