Yibi Hu
Kingston University, London

KEG

Biography: Yibi Hu was born and educated in Shanghai, where he received a degree in industrial design at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. After a few years working in a key role on Motion Magic Studios’ design team, he left to pursue a master's degree in screen design at Kingston University in the UK. These proved to be delightful years for him as he worked on his own concepts and blended his visual palette with his own flavor. Yibi enjoys telling and producing visualized stories by himself.

Objective: Animation styles are interlaced as well as the story lines, which explored the history and the stories behind the various names from different cultures, in a philology way. It is a trial of composing simple animation with rich color elements to create a symbol of culture and politics. This KEG of powder will lead to a lush visual experience.

Tools used: Adobe® After Effects® was used as the main composing software to create almost all the special effects, especially as a great effort in creating the shining stained glass style. Animation was done partly by Adobe Photoshop® painting, with some assistance from the 3D package to generate pieces of footage, which were combined together in After Effects. Adobe Premiere® was the main editing tool and also helped to compose the soundtrack.
