Biography: Matthew is a master's degree student of Communication Art & Design at the Royal College of Art in London and is due to graduate in July 2006. His interest in moving images has led him to explore many aspects of time-based media such as motion graphics, video installation, and short film. Matthew is currently pursuing an interest in live-action filmmaking and actively developing his skills as a director and writer, concentrating his efforts on developing themes and ideas for future film projects.
Objective: A short film about a young boy's reaction to the pressure to conform in a new environment. Sometimes our fantasies can become a little strange in reality. Secure or insecure? It depends what side of the fence you're on.
Tools used: Adobe® Premiere® for offline DV picture editing for the film. Adobe Premiere provided a quick and easy way to experiment with the assemblage and storytelling aspects of the edit.
