Feed Me Weird Things

Artist's Statement: This time based design is an exercise using After Effects to animate graphics with sounds. There are two sound tracks in this piece: Bucephalus Bouncing Ball and Cranium Oxide. Bucephalus is feeding Cranium bouncy things and Cranium is reacting to them.

Adobe® Illustrator® was used to create the layout in separate layers. After Effects® was used to import the document with each layer as a separate object, and changing the scale animated the boxes so they received the squash and stretch treatment. The opacity of the little boxes and the large Cranium box was then changed. Once all the steps were completed, I precomposed the animation, bringing it into a different timeline, and changed the scale so it looked like a camera is zooming in and out. The keyframe marker was heavily used.
