Seeing Light
Objective: Seeing Light is my attempt at transforming my everyday surroundings. The photographs are abstract so that the people viewing them that are familiar with the specific area in the photograph would not recognize it. Some of the photographs are recognizable as the objects that they are. I wanted moments of clarity for the viewer. I printed the photographs dark to take the objects out of their everyday context and to put emphasis on the shadows and light being created by these forms.
Tools used: I scanned my negatives into Photoshop® and adjusted the levels. Photoshop gave me the ability to make dark, low contrast images without losing detail in the middle grey area.
