As sponsor of the Student Filmmaker Program at Cannes, Adobe initiated two hands-on studio projects to put student ideas to work:
On May 25, 2006, industry luminaries from the film and broadcast industries reviewed the student work, and Adobe hosted an "It's A Wrap Party" where there winners were announced for both broadcast and documentary projects. Visitors to this site will view the Best in Show Documentary and Best in Show Broadcast, as well as other student work recognized for outstanding use of titles and animated program elements.
Special thanks to Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, and Sony for the use of computers and cameras in the Adobe Reel Ideas Studio.
In the Adobe Reel Ideas Studio, 14 teams of students worked on creating a short documentary about Cannes and the Cannes Film Festival. Each team was provided with Adobe Production Studio and Macromedia Flash Professional software, video equipment, and access to a team of film and animation faculty who provided mentoring throughout the program.
The final documentary and broadcasts were entered into the Adobe Reel Ideas Competition. The entries were judged by industry luminaries from the film and broadcast industries in the American Pavilion. Those winners were recognized during the "It's A Wrap Party" in the American Pavilion on May 26, 2006, and are archived for future viewing here on Adobe.com.
