Cyndi Reese is an instructor in the Computer Studies Department at Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California. For the last 30 years, she has developed curriculum and programs for vocational students in a two-year community college, and now focuses her attention on Adobe certificate programs.
Reese started out in the 1970s as a computer operations specialist, programming in Fortran and BASIC with punched cards and a teletype. She has taught the full gamut of computer skills, ranging from programming to DOS and applications. In addition to teaching, she has served as department chair, developed vocational and technical education grants, and consults with local industry. In 2003 she was named the Tauzer Lecturer, the highest award accorded to an SRJC instructor. Other awards include the 1995 Excellence in Education Award from the California Legislature Assembly and the 1999 SRJC Disability Resources Awareness Award. Her current educational interests are developing engaging online classes that use webcasts.
Reese has had a strong affiliation with Adobe that began with Adobe® PageMaker® software. She spearheaded SRJC's development as an Adobe Certified Training Provider, making it the first community college to join this type of industry partnership. Reese has been ranked numerous times through Adobe/Metrics That Matter among the top five Adobe Certified Instructors worldwide. She was one of five educators featured in the Adobe Creative Suite® 5 launch video. An Adobe Certified Instructor for InDesign® and Illustrator®, Reese serves as a beta tester and manages the North Bay Adobe User Group.
