David Holzemer is an eLearning multimedia specialist at Carlow University’s Center for Digital Learning and Innovation. Holzemer develops eLearning module and presentation graphics, produces educational videos, and collaborates on other eLearning initiatives at Carlow.
He has over 15 years of experience working in the field of multimedia instruction, starting with work as a web developer for Source-W eMedia before entering the field of higher education. Holzemer began his academic career as an instructional technologist in the University of Pittsburgh’s Faculty Instructional Development Lab. In this position, he taught faculty how to work with the Blackboard CMS and served as a technology consultant in the areas of video capture and compression, audio editing, podcasting, and image design.
He then moved to Carnegie Mellon University’s Learning and Development unit, where he held the position of eLearning and media design specialist. At CMU, Holzemer developed a wide range of eLearning programs available to staff and faculty. He also created and delivered face-to-face training courses on a variety of topics, such as using Facebook and other social media securely and effectively, and creating engaging presentations using visuals.
In his free time, he is an animal advocate and volunteer animal photographer for the Animal Rescue League. Holzemer treasures time with his grandson and loves exploring life with his wife in and around Pittsburgh.
