Don Kilpatrick III is chair of the College for Creative Studies (CCS) Illustration Department in Detroit. He recently moved to Michigan with his family to begin teaching illustration at the college, and then was promoted to his current position.
Kilpatrick received a bachelor's degree from Utah State University and a master’s in Illustration from Syracuse University. He has created illustrations for advertising, design, editorial, and motion picture clients and was involved in the design of the Olympic medals for the Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has received numerous awards from organizations such as the Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts. Most recently his work was awarded a Gold medal from the 2010 3x3 Annual of Illustration.
