Flemming Kroll has been a lecturer for Media College Aalborg, situated in the northern part of Denmark, since 2011, but he has been working with graphic design and Photoshop since 1993. He is both a Certified Expert and a Certified Instructor in Adobe Photoshop.

His father originally introduced him to black-and-white photography as a boy and provided many hours of exciting learning at shooting locations and in the darkroom. In his early teens he trained as an electromechanic technician, but then never used the skills. Instead, he pursued a career as a DJ on both the radio and in clubs. He was the Danish host of a morning TV show on a local station. The show, named ”Candyfloss,” featured Flemming wearing pink shirts and pants! He was the first noncommercial TV host to present Wham’s super hit ‚”Last Christmas” in 1984.

After serving 12 months in the Royal Danish military service, he once again turned his attention to the creative world of music and images. Together with his best friend Dino, he acquired a powerful Macintosh computer and started learning graphic applications such as Aldus Pagemaker, Freehand, MacDraw and Photoshop.

Graphic design captured Flemming’s imagination and he began creating funny stuff that led him into the world of TV commercials. As a young man he perceived no limits and ventured into producing music videos, TV commercials, and company presentations. He was recruited as a chief producer at Denmark’s then second- largest TV station (TV Fynboen).

In 1999, Flemming became re-interested in photography and acquired his first digital camera. He started a company named DropZone that created web spaces for Denmark’s nightlife world, as well as multimedia productions for various local clients, and both national and international firms using various Adobe applications.

He secured a position as department manager at ICEA, the world’s second largest manufacturer of envelopes for the photographic industry, and brought their digital production methods up to date. His responsibilities included customer service, guidance, and education. Flemming also was in charge of designing the firm’s exhibit for Photokina and other major tradeshows.

In 2004 he turned freelance again, focusing entirely on photography, and managed to land projects with major Danish & international magazines such as Gear, Streetfire Magazine, Aller, M!, FHM, V-MAX and Scratch magazine. Flemming also began teaching Photoshop and photo editing. He recently began to write articles for the Danish photographical magazine Zoom, in which he is responsible for a regular five-page feature on Photoshop "how to" tips. His top goal is to become a speaker at Photoshop World held by NAPP.
