Gerben van der Leun has been a teacher and mentor for desktop publishing and media technology students at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam since 2005. He teaches skills in Adobe® Premiere®, Photoshop®, InDesign®, Illustrator®, and Encore®. In 2009, GLR students voted him Best Teacher for that year.
He earned his degree at the Hogeschool van Utrecht School of Communication Systems. After graduating, he and his brother founded Antiekland.com to produce web projects for various clients. They ran it for three years before Van der Leun launched his teaching career.
In 2008, Van der Leun challenged himself with a personal project outside the classroom. He spent more than 200 hours using all Adobe tools to create a complex DVD project that celebrates the history of a small technology solution provider named Weblynx.
In his spare time, Van der Leun is a filmmaker and poker player. He likes walking, bicycling, and working in his garden. He loves music, particularly the work of Johann Sebastian Bach.
