Howard Simkins has been a practicing artist for the last 30 years and continues to work in both traditional and digital media. He exhibits regularly, both nationally and internationally, and has received support from the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council.
Simkins is a professor at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in the School of Animation Arts and Design. In addition to teaching and doing research, he is the coordinator of computer technology for design-based curriculum. In this position, he is responsible for coordinating strategic planning of the technical infrastructure needed to deliver curriculum. His areas of expertise are in digital imaging and color management.
