Jason Shaeffer began innovating, developing, and managing the production of online education and interactive media in 1999. He feels passionately that through online education we can democratize education, allowing global access for many who would have been previously denied a quality education. He also believes that the best learning occurs when the learner is so engaged that he or she is not even aware that learning is happening.
Shaeffer's current focus is development of the Academy of Art University's online MFA program, synchronous systems management, community building, and recruitment efforts.
In addition to his current university position, he is developing an online community for Alzheimer's patients and caretakers.
