Katrin Eismann is an internationally recognized artist, author, and educator who has been working with digital imaging tools since 1989. She studied photography and electronic still imaging at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon graduating at the top of her class in 1991, she was the first intern at the Kodak Center of Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine. Three years later she was the director of education and had implemented a rigorous curriculum that focused on imaging, design, and multimedia. In 2002 she received her MFA degree in Design from the School of Visual Arts.
Eismann has authored and coauthored numerous books on digital imaging and digital photography, including: "Real World Digital Photography," "Photoshop Masking & Compositing," "Photoshop Restoration & Retouching," and "The Creative Digital Darkroom."
Most recently, Eismann cofounded and chairs the Masters of Professional Studies in Digital Photography department at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She is dedicated to adapting the successful in-classroom curriculum to the online learning environment.
Eismann speaks German and English and has taught and presented in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout North America.
