Kheng Kia Khor is a senior lecturer in the School of Creative Design and a committee member of the Research, Innovation and Management Centre (RMIC) at SEGi University, Malaysia. He has nine years of academic experience that include both teaching art and design and developing courses and training modules. In addition, he also worked as a software trainer and video content developer during the Indonesian Natural Games Festival (PON) XVI held in Palembang in September 2004. He served as an animation and video content demonstrator and trainer during the installation of the video displays at SM Megamall in the Philippines in December 2004.
Dr. Khor holds a doctorate in visual arts from the University of Malaya, a master’s degree in creative multimedia from the Multimedia University, and a bachelor’s degree (with honors) in visual communication from Birmingham City University (previously known as University of Central England). He has presented and published more than half a dozen research papers at various international conferences, including the International Conference on the Arts in Society held in Venice, Italy (2009) and the International Conference on Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualization in Tianjin, China (2009).
Dr. Khor has also been involved in creating numerous TV commercials in Malaysia from 2002 through 2006. These include Cadbury Chocolate season greetings, I-Berhard products, Channel 9 New Year’s greeting, and Christian Dior Christmas greeting, as well as TV advertisements shown on Astro, Channel 9, and TV3.
In 2001, his animation short was nominated for Best Animation (student category) in the Royal Television Awards and Best Film in the 17th Birmingham Film and TV Festival in the United Kingdom.
