Khor Kheng Kia is a Programme Coordinator cum Senior Lecturer in the School of Creative Design at SEGi University, Malaysia. He has eight years of academic experience that include both teaching art and design as well as developing courses and training modules. In addition to that, he also worked as a software trainer and video content developer during the Indonesian Natural Games Festival (PON) XVI held in Palembang in September 2004. He served as animation and video content demonstrator and trainer during the installation of the video displays at SM Megamall in the Philippines in December 2004.
Khor holds a Master of Science in Creative Multimedia and a Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Visual Communication. He has presented and published research papers at various international conferences, including the 4th International Arts in Society Conference in Venice, Italy (2009) and the International Conference on Computer Graphics, Visualization and Imaging in Tianjin, China (2009).
Apart from academic achievements, he has also been involved in numerous TV commercials in Malaysia from the year 2002 until 2006. These include Cadbury Chocolate session greetings, I-Berhard products, Channel 9 New Year greeting, and Christian Dior Christmas greeting TV advertisements shown on Astro, Channel 9 and TV3.
In the year 2001, his animation short was nominated for Best Animation (student category) in Royal Television Awards and Best Film in the 17th Birmingham Film & TV Festival in the United Kingdom. His artist profile has been selected for publication in the reader profile section of CGI (Computer Generated Imaging) magazine, volume 06/ issue 09/ September 2001.
