Koen De Weggheleire is a faculty member of the Technical University of West-Flanders (HOWEST), where he teaches Adobe® Flash® Platform solutions (Flash, Flex, Adobe AIR®) with a smile. As the Adobe User Group Manager for Belgium and Adobe Community Expert for Flash, Koen blogs and speaks at several international industry events (Adobe MAX (San Francisco, Barcelona Spain), FITC, 360 Flex (Milan Spain), Flashbelt (Minneapolis, USA), Flash on the beach (Brighton, UK), and Flash on Tap (Boston and UK).
He coordinates the annual Belgian multimedia conference Multi-Mania, where 1,000 people come together to learn from industry experts and to share knowledge. Koen is author of "friendsofED" and was co-author of the books "Flex for Developers" and "Flash CS4 AIR Development." He co-authored the book AdvancED AIR Applications which will soon be published. For O'Reilly, Koen also co-authored the Adobe AIR 1.5 Cookbook.
When there is still some time left you can find Koen at his company "Happy-Banana" doing Flash Platform consulting work on rich Internet applications.
When De Weggheleire is not talking ActionScript®, you can find him producing music, collecting goodies, eating pizza, or renovating his 100-year-old house.
