Laura Silva is a 20-year veteran of educational, corporate, and entertainment media technologies. She has been an educator, consultant, and instructional designer. As a curriculum specialist at Azusa Pacific's Center for eLearning & Technology, her work involves instructional design for the university's online programs. Silva also teaches online courses in the university's online master's programs.
She previously served as chair of digital media at Art Center College of Design, where she later held the post of director of online learning. Past teaching areas have included web design and development, interface design, digital design, and design-based learning for secondary education.
As a consultant and trainer for Disney Consumer Products and Walt Disney Imagineering, Silva develops customized training to teach digital tools. She is also involved in educational reform in secondary education. She provides professional development for high school teachers in innovative curriculum design.
Silva resides in Southern California, pursuing her passion for working in clay when she is not online. She has an MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California.
