“You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith, and hope.”
— Thomas Merton
Linda Walker teaches professional/technical courses for students pursuing software and marketing degrees and certificates at Bellevue College. Her courses integrate learning industry best practices with encouraging students to explore their creative side. In addition to instruction, Walker is also a designer in BC Creative Services, the in-house art department for the college. She especially enjoys working on posters promoting Theatre Arts Department events, Faculty Commons collateral, and the student handbook.
Walker’s digital skills have evolved over the course of nearly 20 years in print design. She studied drawing, painting, and illustration while earning a BFA from California State University Long Beach. Before moving into higher education, Linda worked in-house as a designer and production artist, where she first starting dreaming in vector paths. For five years she worked at a print house that specialized in high-volume projects.
Walker is excited to be evolving from a print “dinosaur” into a more interactive visual communicator, using technologies such as Adobe Digital Publishing Suite and web apps.
