Menno Schrap is a lecturer on digital media and project manager for visual research at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Zwolle. He has taught at ArtEZ since 2008 with a focus on media design and digital media. He helps graphic design students learn to design for different kinds of media and to experiment with the latest software. Every year he coordinates the Sound & Images Masterclass for students in Art & Design and MediaMusic. As project manager for visual research, he initiates projects with external companies and alumni.
Schrap studied image and media technology and, in 1991, became one of the first nonlinear editors in the Netherlands, using Adobe software in the Dutch broadcast industry (he was a beta tester of Adobe Premiere 3.0). He also worked for various exhibitions, filling roles ranging from technical exhibition manager of the Dutch Electronic Arts Festival in 1996 to video producer and editor for the Inauguration Exhibition of King Willem-Alexander in 2013.
