“Working really hard is what successful people do...”
- Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers: The Story of Success
Nathan Pieratt is an award-winning design professional and instructor who has had the opportunity to develop and teach a wide variety of design, visual communications and digital media courses for both the on-ground and online platform. Nathan has over a decade of experience with online design programs as both an instructor and a student. He holds a B.S from Wayne State College in business and design, an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, and is currently working towards his M.S in integrated marketing communications from the University of West Virginia.
When he is not teaching Nathan is an art director for The Marketing Arm in Dallas Texas, one of the top promotions companies in the country. Working with big brands like Frito-Lay and Walmart, he produces digital media solutions including in-store signage, packaging, branding, video, user interface, and integrated strategy for nation wide campaigns.
Nathan also has a freelance business and helps the nonprofit organization Children’s Relief International, a small 501-C3 with their design and marketing strategy. He is currently working on a book that will help potential design students rapidly navigate the changing landscape of higher education.
Nathan is often followed by a trail of glitter, as he is the father of four beautiful girls under the age of 10. When he’s not working, teaching, studying, or playing with the kids he enjoys college football and a good book.
