“A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere.”
— Joyce A Myers
Adam Corkett is the curriculum leader for creative arts, media, and music at East Riding College, specializing in interactive media. He has a background in graphic and multimedia design. He teaches levels one through five (further and higher education) at a regional FE college in the BTEC Creative Media Production and Art & Design programs. Corkett is also program leader for the foundation degree in applied digital media.
Corkett first encountered Adobe software in 1995, while in secondary school. During his spare time he was given the opportunity to explore Adobe® Photoshop® for a local print firm — and he has been hooked ever since. This early experience ignited his love of all things digital. Corkett still teaches Photoshop, though it is no longer his primary focus.
During his studies for his HND and subsequent BA he was introduced first to Director® and then Flash® (MX 2004) and fell in love with the infinite possibilities of interactive media, limited only by the user’s imagination — his own ran wild! At present he is teaching primarily Adobe Flash Professional, Dreamweaver®, Photoshop, and Illustrator® to all levels. His courses include game development, web development, and media/communication. Occasionally he also covers Adobe Premiere® Pro and InDesign®.
