Darcy Moore is deputy principal at Dapto High School. He also lectures and tutors preservice teachers at the University of Wollongong. He has taught, lived, and studied in Denmark and the United Kingdom. He would like to have the opportunity to experience genuine excellence in educational change wherever it is transforming children's lives and to share this knowledge.
Moore regularly presents at conferences on a range of educational passions including social reading, the future of learning, technologies in the classroom, "walking the walk," blogging, and the impact of social media. He is passionate about nurturing student participation in Australia's democracy and transforming how the local communities perceive learning and education.
His articles have been published in a range of professional journals including mETAphor, SCAN, and Australian Teacher Magazine, and his blog post "The Future is Here" was featured on the IBM 100th anniversary website. He also has written for ABC Splash. His award-winning blog Darcymoore.net is updated weekly with an eclectic range of posts and images. Five years ago he discovered Twitter and remains enamored with the tool.
Moore describes himself as "a digital technologies enthusiast." He is a keen photographer, reader, blogger, and traveler who loves Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4 and wants to learn all about Adobe InDesign® during 2013.
