As an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, David L. Smith is interested in using technology to support and nurture the development of culture, community, and communication. Smith is also his school's webmaster, a webmaster for the Ohio Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and the chair-elect of TESOL International's Video and Digital Media Interest Section.
Smith is involved in professional development and training for English language teachers at the state and international level. He also presents at educational conferences and writes articles for academic journals and the Ohio TESOL newsletter. He is pursuing a PhD at Ohio State University.
