"Learning should never end. We must teach our students to use the resources they have at their fingertips so they can always find the answer when they have a question.”
Debra Keller is her high school’s department coordinator for career and technology education. She also teaches web development and multimedia classes, oversees the daily campus video announcements, designs the campus newsletter, and oversees the "Literary Magazine" publication. Her multimedia and web course are now offered for Dual Credit.
Keller believes students need to get involved in real-world projects. And her Multimedia II students work on a variety of campus projects, including daily video announcements, feature videos, athletic locker magnets, window decals, and inspirational posters, to name a few.
This past school year marked the 1st Annual Film Festival and Career & Technology Showcase. Keller spearheaded the event to bring the teachers in her department together and to provide a means for students to show off their work in the career and technology classes.
