Eden Carey is an ICT and business studies coordinator and teacher at Kolbe Catholic College in Rockingham, Western Australia. She teaches multimedia, information and communications technology (ICT), and business management and enterprise to students in years 9 through 12. Many of her subjects also include certificate courses embedded within the subject, such as Certificate I in Information Technology and Certificate III in Business Studies. This provides additional recognition of the hard work each student puts forth.
Carey successfully integrates ICT into the classroom through the use of the iPad, Apple TV, and interactive whiteboard. The curriculum content for ICT subjects involves using Adobe creative tools such as Adobe® Dreamweaver®, Photoshop®, Flash® Professional, and Illustrator®. She believes ICT resources help provide additional support in the classroom, adding engagement and enjoyment of the subject.
She has presented lectures and workshops on various software applications including Photoshop and Flash Professional at her own school and others through the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia.
