Buckinghamshire County, England
"What works today is better than what's perfect tomorrow, so use appropriate technology — it'll make your life easier than the inappropriate stuff…."
Ian Usher supports Buckinghamshire county schools and advisers — primary and secondary schools, various Local Authorities, and technical and teaching staff — in all aspects of online learning including virtual learning environments (VLEs), learning platforms, videoconferencing, and remote collaboration.
Just a few of his responsibilities include delivering INSET training, helping staff and faculty use Adobe® Connect™ , Macromedia® Breeze, and Adobe Captivate® software to enhance teaching and learning, and demonstrating how Adobe software works with the open source VLE Moodle. Adobe Connect and Moodle form the core of the Buckinghamshire Grid for Learning platform.
Usher presents and trains across the United Kingdom on the use of Moodle, Adobe Connect, and Breeze in schools. He also presents for Adobe and NAACE (the National Association of Advisers for Computers in Education) at BETT, the U.K. education technology event. He has been an Adobe Education Leader since 2004.
