Jan Loftus is a principal project officer in the area of E-Schooling for the Department of Education Western Australia. She has almost 10 years of experience in the role of project manager and team leader with a focus on digital technologies and organization-wide change management strategies.
Her background is in teaching, and she has a long-held interest in the effective use of technology to support teaching and learning processes. She has worked at a variety of levels within the Department of Education to facilitate teacher ICT competence and pedagogy change in schools.
In her current role, Loftus has responsibility for a number of key initiatives involving statewide implementation of the department's online services and the provision of consultative support to school leadership teams. A focus of her work is assisting schools in making informed decisions about the implementation and sustainable growth of ICT in classrooms.
Recently, her portfolio was increased to incorporate facilitation of the AEL program in Western Australia government schools.
Loftus has a wealth of experience as a presenter and workshop facilitator in the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
