As instructional webmaster for one of the largest school districts in the United States, Kim Cavanaugh manages web-based instructional content, develops web-based services, and investigates new online content and services for classroom use. He came to this position after ten years teaching social studies and web design, which was preceded by ten years running his own business and six years as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Army.
In 1997, his social studies classroom claimed the district's first Internet connection. Cavanaugh's fascination with the Internet's instructional uses led to an interest in web publishing, and in 2000, he began teaching web and animation design classes at Congress Middle School in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Cavanaugh has since authored three books and three online courses on Adobe® Dreamweaver® and Fireworks® software and more than 120 articles and tutorials on web publishing products, including Macromedia® FreeHand® from Adobe as well as Adobe Flash® Professional, Contribute®, Adobe Captivate®, and Adobe Connect™ software.
