"It's not a matter of what should be there, but rather what could be."
— Marcel Wilson
The rapid growth of technology is changing the way we communicate our thoughts and ideas in the classroom and beyond. The boundaries for technology are continuously expanding within the Natick Public School system where Lori Cullen is a technology teacher. Cullen teaches various technology courses: Introduction to Web Design, Advanced Web Design I, Advanced Web Design II, Digital Media, and Internet Management. In her classes, she challenges her students’ basic and complex knowledge of various computer applications in Adobe® Creative Suite® software and on the web. Her most intense class is Advanced Web Design II, where each student becomes certified in Adobe Dreamweaver® CS5 software and then goes on to apply his or her skills with jobs at businesses in the Greater Boston area including Wellesley College, Five Bites Cup Cakes, Vanessa Boutique, GPA Plus Solutions, The Seat Swap, and the Natick School District.
Beyond working with the students, Cullen has played a large role in preparing fellow co-workers for the one-to-one environment that Natick High School will be launching with the opening of a new high school in September 2012.
Cullen earned a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology from Cambridge College. In addition to working at Natick High School, she has worked in several public and private school settings and maintains trade show websites on a freelance basis. She also runs marathons and volunteers in various charity events.
